President

Matt Aust is an experienced developer and seasoned entrepreneur. He bought his first business in 2002 (forming Aust Incorporated), purchasing a struggling retail business that was in financial distress, turning it into a regional wholesale operation. By systemizing the organization and implementing aggressive sales and marketing programs, he increased sales dramatically. This enhanced the value substantially. Since this time, Aust has taken on numerous other turnaround projects specializing in businesses in financial distress. 

In 2017 he turned his attention to real estate development, looking for opportunities in underserved and overlooked markets. Aust formed the company Black Swan Developers LLC, which is based on black swan events. These are events that lie outside the realm of normal expectations because nothing in the past can credibly suggest that it would happen. These events were described in 2nd-century Rome when black swans were presumed to not exist. However, in 1697 Dutch explorers became the first Europeans to see black swans in Western Australia. Until this time, black swans were perceived to be outside the realm of a possibility. Black Swan Developers uses this same theory as it looks for opportunities that will come as a surprise and have a major impact.  To date, Aust has nearly 200,000 square feet of real estate under development.
